Beef Cattle Vaccination Protocol
Goals:
~To have healthy cows that are able to get pregnant and produce a vigorous viable calf
~Reduce the probability of a devastating disease outbreak such as Abortion Storm, Calf Scours, etc
Mature Cows:
-IBR/BVD after calving and prior to breeding in most situations Modified Live Virus vaccination is recommended
-Scour causing agents 3-8 weeks prior to calving
Calves: 1-3 months of age
~7-8 way Clostridial (Black Leg)
~IBR/BVD with Pasturella
~In herd with respiratory disease issues in young calves(3-4 weeks) Inforce can be used at birth to reduce severity of disease outbreaks
Calves: Weaning
~7 or 8 way Clostridial (Black Leg)
~IBR/BVD with Pasturella
Replacement Heifers:
~7 or 8 way Clostridial (Black Leg)
~IBR/BVD Modified Live Virus
~Scour causing agents at 6 months gestation and again 3-8 weeks prior to calving
